A Debut Hundred for Josh Inglis!!

It was a memorable moment for Josh Inglis when he punched the delivery from Nishan Peris for 3 runs through the cover region and reached the magical figure of 100 on his debut. His parents, clearly delighted, showered kisses from the stands seeing their son achieve this remarkable feat.

Josh Inglis was elated, to say the least. The Yorkshire-born wicketkeeper-batter scripted history by reaching the landmark in just 90 balls, setting a record for the fastest debut century, second only to Shikhar Dhawan (85 balls).

To come to Asian conditions and score a hundred is no easy feat, but to do it on debut shows the magnificent mindset and sound technique Inglis possesses. The hundred on debut from Inglis and a marathon innings from Usman Khawaja have placed the visitors nicely on top in the first Test match at the Galle International Stadium.

The World Test Championship finalists will be looking to build on the pressure and go for an innings win against the hosts, who have been reduced to 44-3 at the end of day twos play.
